Boyup Brook Country Music Festival: Mia is thrilled to announce she is a finalist in the WA Country Music Awards in three categories. Mia will perform at the awards night on Friday 17th February as one of three finalists in Best Female Artist and Best New Talent Awards. Mia's album, Chasing Footprints is also one of three finalists in the WA Country Music Independent album of the Year Award.
Gigs scheduled for February 2012: Mia will be performing at the Provincial Wine Bar in Geraldton with Chris Budhan and Josh Crothers on Friday 10th February before heading off to Boyup Brook for the WA Country Music Awards. Following this Mia will entertain at the Navy club in Fremantle on Sunday 26th February for the post service celebrations commemorating HMAS Perth. HMAS Perth sank 70 years ago in the early hours of 1st March 1942 during the battle of the Sunda Strait.
HMAS Perth song: Mia has just completed her latest song "The Battle of Sunda Strait" in memory of those sailors lost in the tragic battle. Mia will record both the Perth and Sydney songs early this year. Stay tuned for a single release!
WAMI AWARDS SUCCESS: Mia is thrilled to announce 2 of her original songs were nominated in the WAM (Western Australian Music Industry) awards. Calling Banjo was one of 5 finalists in the Country section and Rain Stick was one of 5 finalists in the Folk/World category.
HMAS Sydney Song: Mia finished writing a new song titled "Shadows of Silver Gulls" about the HMAS Sydney. November 2011 was 70 years since the Sydney tragically sank with the hands of 645. Mia performed this song at the Mayor's reception following the sunset service on 19th November 2011. The song was greatly received and Mia was invited to write a song about HMAS Perth and perform at the commemoration in February, Fremantle Perth.

(Mia Royce and Gavin Carvill). Enjoy the sounds of jazz, country, folk through to pop with a collection of everyone’s favourite tunes and Mia’s original tracks. Gigs in October 2011 included the Greenough G Festival on 8th October (Mia performed Lady Gaga!), Sunshine festival foreshore concert and MBA awards night on 22nd October. In November Mia entertained at weddings, performed at the Home Grown festival on 5th November, entertained at Skeetas restaurant for their 20 year anniversary celebrations on Sunday 13th November and performed at the Mayor's reception as part of HMAS Sydney celebrations on 19th November 2011. On 16th December Mia was the guest artist at the Queens Park Theatre Sunset Series where she performed 2 hours of Christmas carols jazz style with local and Perth based jazz musicians.
CD Launch:
The launch of Chasing Footprints was an outstanding success. On 11th June Mia and friends performed to a sold out crowd at the Queens Park Theatre. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd was left wanting more. The night raised close to $10000 for Midwest Yellow Ribbon for Life.
